The Frandsens: The Honeymoon

We are no good at taking pictures of just the two of us but we try :-)

We Went to Mazatlan Mexico on the honeymoon we had to be at the airport at 6:00 AM bright and early!! I just went with leftover hair and i didn't pass through the metal detector because i had too many bobbie pins in my hair so TSA had to give me the pat me down. Of course we couldn't have a smooth morning with the night we had before :-). We got to our terminal got on the plane and sat there till everyon had borded the plane then the pilot came over the intercom and said they were having trouble starting one of the engine's so it would just be another ten minutes. Ten minutes passed and the pilot came back over the intercome said they couldn't fix it through the computer in the cabin so they had to go under the plane to fix it. Another 10, 15 minutes passed and the pilot came over the intercom again. He said its going to take longer then they thought; they said we could leave the plane and stretch our legs while they try and get it fixed. So Daniel decided he was going to go and get us a snack are breakfast had started to wear off by now, so he left me in the plane and went to burger king I sat there for probably another 15 mintues when they said we either had to stay on the plane or get off the plane but they were going to shut the door. There was no way i was going to stay on there all by myself so i went to the door right as i got there they said you better go back and get your bags because we are switching planes. So i go back to our seat get all of our bags all alone and leave the plane. I then called Daniel to explain what happened and so he could come and find me. We got to our new terminal and boarded our new plane as we were walking down the aisle of the plane some lady yells across the entire plan "HONEYMOONERS" it turned out to be the petersen's a family friend of the frandsens i was so embarrassed. Finally our flight left the ground it was off to LA. After a little over an hour we arrived in LA we got off the plane and we had missed our layover to mexico so we go and meet with one of the Delta representatives and the first thing she says to us is "This better be quick or i can't help you" We were so mad we don't know how long its going to take we just wanted to find a new connecting flight and get to mexico.

She ended up on helping us and we couldn't catch another flight until the next day i was so upset at this point how could this happen on my honeymoon and why couldn't it be on the way home instead of the way there. They gave us a free stay and the very fancy holiday in (ha ha not) and $21.00 towards food in the hotel. We went to get our luggage next and the lady at the counter was complaining about how she needed to go eat lunch she was starving and she was just going to leave and not help us. We were so mad Delta rep's treated us so awful all we wanted to do was go to mexico they could have treated us way better then they did!! We got our luggage and went to catch a bus to take us to the hotel well of couse we got on the wrong bus and had to ride to the wrong hotel and all the way back to the airport then we stood outside for about a half and hour waiting for the correct bus to come and we finally made it to out hotel there was a big group of about 20 people who got stuck in LA. We were so exhausted from not sleeping the night before and waking up at 3AM on the wedding day that we just slept in LA all day we didn't do a thing it was so nice!! the $21 they gave us to eat at there restaurant wasn't enough to pay for the food so we had to use our own money as well. This made us so mad because if we would have made it to mexico EVERYTHING was all inclusive and already paid for. Oh well what do you do we did call and complain to delta and they gave us $200.00 each to anywhere in the US but we are definetly going after them for more because we seriously got hosed. The next morning we made it to the airport with no problems and off to mexico we finally went.

Getting ready to go to the beach

It was spring break the whole week we were in mexico so there were tons of collage kids and everyone was wasted. They had a swim up bar at our swimming pool so there was definetly a few people to drunk to hold there drink that they spilled them in the pool. There were also lots of random people just making out in the pool and being crazy. They had a HUGE sound system on the beach and they blaired music every day all day and into the night we heard hootin and hollering all night down on the beach the windows in our hotel room were paper thin. We had a lot of fun though we hung out on the beach and at the pool and went into town one day at the flea market and Daniel's spanish was very handy when it came to bartering. It was way fun there taxi cabs were like little golf carts so those were fun to ride in too. The trip was over before we knew it. Going home can be both good and bad I wasn't ready to leave but there was so much at home to do it was better we did go back home. We had no problems on our way home smooth flight we watched top gun on the way home it was great. We came back to snowy Utah after being in sunny mexico that for sure was a downer. When we arrived at our house my parents took the liberty of moving the rest of my stuff out of there house and filled out living room with gifts all the stuff from the wedding and boxes of all my crap now that was very overwhelming to come home to. But we had finally made it home and could get back to reality :-)
