Puppy Graduation!

YEAH!!! Max did it!! He graduated from puppy class!! He is the smartest puppy we have ever had :-). He had to do a little course to graduate. He walked down one aisle in petsmart doing the loose leash walk and when you stop he would sit, he had to walk around a cat post then on the the next row. There was a cat toy to distract him we told him to "leave it" and of course he left it. Next he had to do a sit stay for 30 seconds and a down stay for a full minute and he did amazing. The last thing to do to pass the the test was a "come" and of course he came!! He is learning so quickly we are so proud of him. It should not be called " Pets Mart" it should be called " Pet Smart" he he he. Now Daniel is in the process of teaching him other tricks such as roll over, shake and he already knows how to say bye bye very well. We were sick of everyone thinking he is a girl too so we got him a shirt after graduation so hopefully people will realize he is a manly man!!

Happy Birthday Emily & Somer

It was Emily's birthday on 8/20/08 and Somer's birthday on 8/23/08. On Sunday we had a big dinner at the frandsen's to celebrate the birthdays. We had a delicious ham, funeral potatoes, vegetable casserole, corn on the cob and fabulous homemade rolls. It was very tasty. For Emily's birthday her favorite color is ORANGE so we got her this cute orange polo with a navy blue lacy tank to go under it. Then for somer's birthday we got her this darling hunter green short sleeved sweater with a necklace to match. We loved both the presents and hope the girls did as well!! Daniel was in charge of the pics and this is all he got :-)! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLS!! We hope you both had fabulous days and we love you!!

After lunch we got the chance to go and see Jenna's cute new house. It was a very fun afternoon. I love my friends and am so glad when we get to spend some time with them! Happy 22 Birthday Abby we love you!!

Long Hair

As long as I can remember I have had long hair. When i was too young to do my own hair my mom sometimes would cut my hair to a bob. But as long as i have done my own hair it has been long. Well I decided it was time for a change i was sick of always looking the same. SOOOOOO I chopped off my hair AGGGGHHHHH. I was so nervous the night before i cut it i couldn't sleep and kept having nightmares. But my friend Tammy who did my hair did an amazing job and I LOVE it. I just hope i know how to do it!! So Those of you with short hair if you have any advice for a new bee fill me in.

Home Improvement

We love our home dearly but it needs a little fixing up here and there and since my husband has lots of free time he has been getting TONS done!!! Our lovely basement has a tendency to flood since the ground has sunk and slopes towards the house. So we have a big project to do! First he ripped out all the trees and bushes that were in the front of the house and on the side of the house. Next he put this tar stuff on the inside walls of the unfinished basement to prevent the water from continuing to come in. Next he broke up the side walk to the patio. Then I got the joy in helping roll up all of the grass in the front yard and moving it to the back yard so that we could get the ground raised. Daniels brother david was so nice to help cut the sod up and transport it to the back. They only broke 3 sprinklers :-) . Sod is so heavy and i'm a super woose so i got to the point where i would just roll up the sod and the boys would carry it to the wheel barrow then roll it to the backyard. It took us all night long but we got it all done. Friday Daniel and my brother chuck went and picked up some dirt to raise the ground with they made the dirt slope towards the sidwalk and street instead of the house. Then we put the sod back down it took us till 11:00 at night and daniel started working on the dirt at 7 in the morning it was a long day and he was so exhausted.Saturday morning we had to give the puppies baths they got so muddy and dirty from helping us out :-). We were also watching Daniels sister Wendy's dog buddy for the weekend. max loved having a friend. after the bath daniel fixed th sprinklers. now we get the joy of pouring some new cement. but the yard is coming along quite nicely. Hopefully we can get it all taken care of this summer so we can have a party next summer :-)

The Bear Lake Weekend

Once again we headed up to the always fun and easy to access bear lake cabin. heres the haps of what we did this time around!! We headed up there after work (well after Kelsies work) and stopped at delicious Burger King to eat in logan. Once we got up there we just relaxed for the rest of the night to get ready for our big saturday! First on the agenda was the craft fair for raspberry days, we walked around and saw all the booths and got some kettle corn and a new picture of the Salt Lake temple for our room, thanks to our "fair allowance" from Rob and Becky!! after the fair it was off to the ice caves, we all rode 4 wheelers to get there, including Max, and here are some pics to tell the tale! As we unloaded the 4 wheelers we found this piece of farm equipment that said Max on it so naturally we took a picture! And yup we just strapped a cage on the front of the ol 4 wheeler and let max ride along, PETA didnt really give us too much trouble!Deep deep deep into the ice caves we went, they were really dark inside you cant really tell because the camera flash lit things up for the picture. You can see just how icy it was in there, a big sheet of rocks and ice! very dangerous and VERY slippery. Here we are on the inside just chillin! (pun intended)
And yes it was a little cold and scary as our faces in this picture indicate! This is me and an ice pillar, it was pretty neat on the inside. But when we were done poor little Max was sure tired, he just cuddled up with his duck friend and slept all the way back home. After the caves me and Kels decided to go get some rays at the beach, we were the just long enough to set our towels down and walk to the water when we look back and see everybodys easy ups on the beach blowing over. A big storm rolled in right when we got there, so we snapped a pic and packed up.If I could add movement to the picture below you would notice all the boats floating away to the left and the big sand storm you see in the back blowing right past us and sandblasting our backs and legs!
So the beach was awsome and we came home to some hamburgers and hotdogs, we spent the rest of the night watching movies and playing games. Sunday morning brought Church and clean up and a ride home. It was a lot of fun and we cant wait to do it again!!

The tables have turned . .

well the reason they have is because i now have gobs of free time to blog and where kelsie used to do the majority of the blogging, I now reign and will post to my hearts content! here are a few random nuggets of speacial joy . .

first on the list is this wonderful depiction of what our world is coming to, now I know I passed the boat pull portion of the drivers test when I was 16, but as we drove down highway 89 I couldn't help but wonder how this fortunate student was handling the pressure!

One of these things is not like the others, One of these things just doesn't belong, Can you tell which thing is not like the others, By the time I finish my song? Did you guess which thing was not like the others? Did you guess which thing just doesn't belong? If you guessed this one is not like the others, Then you're absolutely...right!

and a funny video of lil Max . .

Here is the newspaper story of the accident . .

RIVERDALE — A 33-year-old Roy man died early Friday after a suspected drunken driver fleeing from police ran a red light and collided with his vehicle. The incident began around 1 a.m. when an officer attempted to pull over Phillip Andrew Ben, 28, of Layton, on Riverdale Road at 650 West for an insurance violation. Ben pulled the newer model Chevy Impala to the side of the road briefly but decided to speed off, said Lt. James Ebert. Because of the erratic way Ben changed lanes to pull over, the officer became suspicious that he might have been impaired.Ben accelerated through about four green lights heading north on Riverdale when the light at the intersection with 36th Street turned red in front of him, Ebert said. The pursuing officer, several blocks behind the suspect, was contemplating terminating the chase when the Impala blew through the red light and collided with a 1987 Honda Accord heading west on 36th, Ebert said. The driver of the Accord, Joseph Paul Kirk, 33, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, Ebert said.Ben’s car bounced over the curb and collided with two cars in the parking lot of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He then jumped out and fled the accident on foot, hiding nearby, Ebert said.Police set up a perimeter around the area, causing the suspect to spook from his hiding place and run again, Ebert said. A citizen saw him running and attempted unsuccessfully to tackle him, but slowed him enough for police to catch up, Ebert said. Ben struggled with officers and was shocked twice with a Taser before police were able to handcuff him, Ebert said. He was transported to the hospital and released several hours later when he was booked into Weber County Jail on felony charges of evading police, DUI, vehicular homicide and several outstanding warrants, Ebert said. A search of his criminal record found numerous outstanding warrants for traffic violations, including failing to stop at the command of the law, driving on a denied license and driving on an alcohol restriction.

Bear Lake 08

We went to Bear lake again for the 24th. We left wednesday evening and came home tuesday morning at 7 in the A.M. It was way fun we went shopping at the little stores and mini golfing on thursday. Horseback riding on Friday. Swimming at the beach and pools every single day. Church on sunday of course. Monday My parents rented us a wave runner because we had to miss the week with the Baddley's at Bear lake. The wave runners were awesome. Daniel, Dad and Ethan built a creature in the sand. We played frisbee in the lake and swam out to the bouy's. We had a blast and all got a little sunburned.

we finally got the slide show thing to work so enjoy the pics
